Our Pastor

Pastor Alonzo Wade has a shepherd's heart and is committed to God and the truth of His Word to help people walk in personal victory and fulfill the call of God on their lives.  His life exemplifies what the scripture says in Jeremiah 3:15; "And I will give you shepherds according to my heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding."

Called to the ministry in 1994, Pastor Wade has preached the gospel in many cities, and seen many souls come to Christ. He served in the local church as a Youth Pastor for seven years, and an Associate Pastor for two years. In April of 2003, through divine direction and instruction by the Holy Ghost, he prayerfully founded Philadelphia Christian Center Ministries. As the ministry grew, Pastor Wade and the congregation gained a deeper revelation of the miraculous power that manifests during times of intimate worship.  Therefore in January 2006 the Lord spoke to Pastor Wade and told him to change the name of the church to Philadelphia Worship Center.

Pastor Wade is powerfully anointed by God to function in the five-fold ministry gifts. He believes that if Jesus is lifted up He will draw all unto Himself. Pastor envisions and strongly conveys to all those at P.W.C. that God wants to see people of all races and colors worshiping God together in the beauty of holiness. Pastor Wade flows in the gifts of healing and miracles and has seen God move greatly in this manner. He has a special anointing to declare healing over sick infants and children.  Pastor Wade flows heavily in the prophetic, encouraging, uplifting, and edifying the Body of Christ.

In addition, Pastor Wade feels the most important motivation a church must have is to walk in the love of God. Paul exhorted the believers in Corinth to pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts (I Corinthians 14:1).  To have a love for God and for one another is our highest calling.  The best definition of a successful church is to be a loving church. Jesus said it best in Matthew 22:37-40:

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment.  And the second commandment is like unto it, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."
